The Tank Kindle Edition
After Fish & Wildlife officer Heather Winters is tipped off about the illegal activity and starts to investigate, she goes undercover, posing as a spectator at the matches in order to infiltrate the underground culture. But when Winters gets close to obtaining sufficient evidence to make an arrest, she learns the man staging the contests is not at all who he says he is. When Brooks catches on to her true role, Winters finds herself in the unenviable position of having to face off as a contestant in the ultimate fight card—woman vs. great white shark in… THE TANK.

You have to suspend your beliefs and go for the ride with this book, and that's completely fine; I was willing to do that, and like I said, it wasn't an awful ride. My issue was mostly with the editing, or lack thereof. The author mixed up the names of his characters several times in the book. Felix got hurt, but then a few pages later, Matt was taken to the hospital for Felix's injuries. It's like the author forgot which of his characters got hurt. The main character, Kane, goes by Lyle in the book, and near the end of the book, one of the characters, Heather, goes, "Where's Kane?" and his roommates answer her as though they know who Kane is. They don't. Who they know is Lyle. Little things like that bugged me, and they were all throughout the book.
There were also grammatical issues. Missing words. Typos. The book could really benefit from a good proofread and editing.
Did I enjoy the book? Yeah. I mean, it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't call it good, either. I'd have given the book 3 stars if the editing was there. Other issues I had were some stereotypical characters, inconsistent motives, and an unbelievable character in Heather. She is a terrible Ranger. She goes undercover, and some of the actions she makes are so awful, I wonder if she had any training at all. Would I recommend the book? Sure, as a guilty pleasure read if you have some time to waste and want a quick read that won't make you think too much.
